GlobalRoam Announces New Products for CommunicAsia2006
Singapore, 19th June, 2006 – GlobalRoam is pleased to announce it will be showcasing its new services, cMask and gCross in CommunicAsia2006 from 20 th to 23 rd June. gCross allows mobile users to connect to the online world, whilst cMask offers users the opportunity to give out their contact number, and still maintain their privacy. Existing GlobalRoam partners as well as interested parties will be able to have a first-hand view of the products that have yet to be released to the public.
gCross works using GlobalRoam’s patent-pending technology that allows users to chat and send messages to their friends online on Instant Messenger (IM) and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) using just their mobile phones. It offers cost savings to those who wish to reach their overseas friends, as well as convenience in being able to contact their online acquaintances from any location, without the need to be online, download addition software or obtain additional equipment. Although many see Instant Messengers as a teenager’s toy, IM and VoIP services are increasing in popularity, even in corporations, with 80% of companies worldwide expected to use either public or private IM networks by 2008 (The Radcati Group, 2004).
GlobalRoam is also pleased to introduce cMask, which allow users to give out their numbers whilst keeping their privacy. With cMask, users will be able to control by whom and when they can be reached, as well as maintaining their number private when they contact others through calls or SMS. It’s ideal for online community portals with dating or friendship themes, those people with active and social lifestyles, or professionals who simply wish their personal time respected.
In addition to the above, GlobalRoam staff will be demonstrating gNum, one number used for multiple services. It’s a useful communication tool for road warriors or travelers. gNum services include receiving and making calls that allows users to save on average 40% from their mobile roaming bills when overseas.
