GlobalRoam to Showcase New Services in CommunicAsia2005

Singapore, 13th June, 2005 – GlobalRoam is pleased to announce that WorldNet Dial-Up, an Internet roaming service, is now available for prepaid users. WorldNet is available under the GlobalCredit suite of services, which currently includes mobile roaming, conference roaming, Internet calling and fixed line IDD roaming.

This upgraded service means that all GlobalRoam’s members can use Internet communications when they travel abroad. The current version of WorldNet is for dial-up Internet, still a popular choice of Internet access for travelers, which is easily available as long as a telephone line is present.

The GlobalRoam team had made improvements on the existing WorldNet service to prepaid users to use Internet roaming, previously only available for postpaid users. Now, users can expect to have access to low cost Internet roaming rates in 34 countries, at US$0.06 per minute for the United States and US$0.08 per minute for all other countries. In line with GlobalRoam’s other service offerings, no subscription and connection charges are required.

Besides cost savings, WorldNet is a user-friendly application. An easy-to-use software dialer with phonebook can be installed in the user’s laptop prior to traveling. Whenever required, the user can plug a telephone line into their laptop. By entering their registered mobile number, PIN and selecting the country and city they are dialing from, users can connect online and start using the Internet in moments.

WorldNet differs from other Internet roaming services, as it is generally less costly and more easy to use. In addition, getting an Internet account will entitle the user to use other roaming services under GlobalCredit, such as mobile roaming and conference calling.
