GlobalRoam Identifies Companies Duplicating Smart Call-Back Patent-Pending Service
Singapore, 11th May 2005 - GlobalRoam have identified a few companies that has been replicating GlobalRoam’s new patent-pending Smart Call-Back service. GlobalRoam is now following up with these companies in resolving this issue.
Smart call-back uses the increasingly popular call-back method. However, Smart Call-Back differs from other call-back methods by allowing users to make calls immediately, as a one-stage callback, without needing to remember telephone numbers or sending sms, the required steps for initiating a call using other call-back methods.
The patent application for Smart Call-Back had been submitted for all Asia Pacific countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, as well as the United States of America. Companies found to be replicating this service so far are Telecommunications service companies in Singapore and Malaysia.
GlobalRoam is now following up with these companies on resolving this issue. Usually, once a patent has been issued, the other companies may be asked to cease production of the identical product/service. Damages on infringement of the patent may also need to be paid to the party that has been granted the patent.
