GlobalRoam Announces Launch of Patent-Pending Smart Call-Back Service

Singapore, 21st April 2005 - GlobalRoam is pleased to announce the launch of their latest patent-pending service Smart Call-Back. This new service helps users to make low cost roaming mobile calls with greater ease, with little change to normal mobile calling behaviour.

Smart call-back uses the increasingly popular call-back method. Instead of making a call directly, users initiate a call, and wait for a call back to their phone. It changes an outgoing call to an incoming call, helping users to save by using an alternative service provider. Smart Call-Back differs from other call-back methods by allowing users to make calls immediately, without needing to remember telephone numbers or sending sms, the required steps for initiating a call using other call-back methods.

The service works by allowing users to tie Smart numbers (from the GlobalRoam system) to their contacts’ names and numbers. Once the user has the contact’s name and Smart number saved on their mobile phone, they simply call the name with the Smart number attached and hang up. The system will then call the user back and connect their call.

Coupled with GlobalRoam’s low rates, users can save whilst experiencing an easier way to make calls when traveling overseas. In keeping with GlobalRoam’s goal of offering integrated services, users are also able to use other roaming services including Internet roaming, conference roaming calls, mobile roaming and others, once they have a GlobalCredit account.
